The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) chronicles the notorious 1969 trial of eight, later seven, anti-Vietnam war protesters: Tom Hayden (Eddie Redmayne), Abbie Hoffman (Sacha Baron Cohen), Jerry Rubin (Jeremy Strong), Rennie Davis (Alex Sharp), David Dellinger, John Froines (daniel Flaherty), Lee Weiner (Noah Robbins); Bobby Seale (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) had his case separated from the others as his had been declared a mistrial. These men were federally charged with criminal conspiracy and crossing state lines with the intent to incite a riot following the 1968 Democratic National Convention which was to be held in Chicago, Illinois.
